A nice state park on the edge of a substantial lake. The park is quiet enough in the off-season but has potential for quite a lot of people to stay here.

We're first time campers and it was one night, so nothing really to compare it to to give 5 stars. However it was a very pleasurable experience and makes me want to definitely do it many times over! The grounds were clean, easy to navigate, children friendly, lake front was beautifully kept, staff were super friendly and helpful. The grounds were packed this weekend, but we didn't feel cramped at all. Bathrooms were immaculate compared to what I anticipated and had heard of from different camp ground experiences lol, so all in all this was a nice first time exposure and would recommend it to any family.

Our first experience with Interlochen State Park has been a success! The four kids (ranging from 2-8 yrs) in our two family party had a highly enjoyable time playing in the woods, on the playground, and on the beach. The bathrooms were very well maintained even with the heavy Labor Day traffic. Staff was very friendly. Lots were spacious and shaded. I know a review talked about unlevel sites, however the majority of the park is flat. Park is within easy driving distance to Sleeping Bear Dunes and other northern destinations. We will definitely return!

There are 2 grocery stores at the corner of 137 and 31 (about 2 miles from the campground) and Traverse City is 13 miles away (which was a convenient location to stay and attend the Cherry Festival). I wished there was a laundromat in Interlochen.

Great place to camp! I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the bathrooms however, the lights we always on so during the night time the moths and other bugs would get into the showers and would still be there in the morning when you went to shower, I wish the shower doors would close by themselves. Also we were upset about the 10:00PM "quiet hours" but it wasn't a big deal. With those 2 downsides it was a very nice place to camp, and my family enjoyed it very much.

For the most part, I really enjoyed my stay. The park employees are very friendly and the facilities are clean. I loved the lakes. There's a nice beach and multiple areas to launch a boat and nice fishing. The north campground is level and has a baseball field. The south campground has a considerable sized valley that makes for non-level campsites. All sites are pretty much dirt/sand covered and there are a lot of trees and shade. The trees can make it a bit difficult to corner/park large trailers. My only complaint would be the dumpsters. They are right alongside the exit roads for both campgrounds and they back up traffic.
