Lake Dubonnet is a really nice lake & campground, but as the other reviewer stated...the campground is not patrolled & there were some really loud/rude campers. We stayed for 12 nights, and had a pretty peaceful stay on the weekdays...until the weekends rolled around. A whole clan came in for the 4th of July weekend & set up camp in 3 campgrounds around us...they yelled, hollered, and whooped it up every night until 3-4am in the morning playing drinking games (and fighting come 2am). This group even had small children with them! After that 'fun' group left, we got another group to come in and run their loud generator 24/7 & set off fireworks in their campsite until 2am in the morning. Kinda a bummer...because this place does have some really nice campers, and it's a beautiful campground with nice fishing & awesome trails.

Quiet and not crowded. A lot of great hiking trails and beautiful lake. Great nature photography area. Not patolled and a bit run down. If you can tolerate the DNR lack of maintaining its a good and inexpensive camp. Some have complained about loud parties. That is what 911 and cell phones are for. Many local camper's, they must know something. We do return and enjoy it in spite of the DNR lack of caring.

Nice campground right on the lake. It was quiet while I was there. Not sure why people are surprised there are rude, noisy people that is a requirement for all campgrounds. For $13 you certainly don't get dnr staff hanging around making people behave and if they are that drunk and fighting then you should be calling the police.

Rustic campground in the forest with a beautiful lake and miles of hiking trails. Only $13 a night no reservations needed. Huge campsites. Just a couple miles from the town of Interlochen so you have many amenities there for stores and restaurants including a 24 hr. gas station...golf course...library...school of arts. Quite a unique little town.

Big campsites, well maintained trails, nice boat launch. Great price. We camped here the weekend before labor day, did not encounter any "bad campers" everything was awesome except for the bathrooms.
